Twenty thousand applications. Different shifts, locations and customer requirements.
Make a BPM hiring campaign manageable without substituting a technical test for the job.
Scenario context
BPM / shared-services employer · customer operations campaign · 8-week intake
The problem
Applicants need to meet communication, shift, location and role requirements. Calling every eligible applicant creates a recruiter bottleneck, while a generic technical assessment answers the wrong questions.
The proposed approach
- Start with 20,000 applications and an assumed 60% eligible for screening. Invite all 12,000 and assume 75% complete.
- Apply a role-specific rubric. Assume 40% of completed screenings meet progression criteria, and retain a five-minute human review for each.
- Compare eight-minute recruiter-led screening of the same 9,000 completions with assisted screening plus a 12-minute human exception call for 10% of completions.
Where people stay involved
Recruiters handle exceptions and validate the 3,600 progression recommendations. Managers own interviews and hiring decisions. Communication criteria remain job-related.
What the model calculates
For the same 9,000 completed screenings and 3,600 human reviews, the scoped model falls from 1,500 to 480 hours: 1,020 hours released. Non-completer follow-up is excluded from both cases.
What it does not establish
Completion, eligibility and exception rates are assumptions. This does not establish hires, retention, bias outcomes or end-to-end time-to-hire.
